At Nanda Learning Center in Rockville, our team is made up of passionate educators who are dedicated to creating a nurturing, engaging, and safe learning environment for every child. Each member of our staff brings valuable experience, creativity, and a genuine love for early childhood education.

Mohamad Obaidy
Director/ Owner All Locations
Mr. Mohamad Obaidy, our fearless leader, is an inspiration to all of us to be the best caregivers we can be. His involvement in our day-to-day operations helps ensure success and smooth functionality.
Without his positive energy, kind heart, and love of early education, Nanda would not be the center we know and love today. Unlike most business owners, Mr. Mohamad makes it a point to show his employees that he genuinely cares by spending time in their classrooms. For this reason, among many others, students greet him by name and with a smile.
Diana Lemus
General Admin
Ms. Diana has been a dedicated member of the Nanda Learning Center for nearly 13 years. Since 2021, she has transitioned into a fully remote administrative role, providing vital support to our management team across all locations.
Her responsibilities include:
Enrollment coordination and tour scheduling
Collection and processing of enrollment paperwork
Hiring and onboarding of new staff
Teacher professional development
Email communication and family support
Marketing, social media, and public outreach
Ordering classroom supplies and materials
Planning and coordination of center-wide events
Since 2017, Ms. Diana has also served as our General Curriculum Coordinator and now works closely with Ms. Yolanda Roberts and the administrative team to further enhance our academic programming.
You may occasionally see Ms. Diana at the center during site visits, where she spends time supporting in-person operations. If you have questions regarding enrollment, forms, or general center information, she is always happy to assist.
Mariana Almeida
Administrative Support
Ms. Mariana has been part of Nanda since 2022, supporting our directors and administrative team.
She assists with:
Account statements and tuition-related inquiries
Questions regarding CCS (Child Care Scholarship) and WPA (Working Parents Assistance Program)
General day-to-day concerns (via email or in person)
Access to ProCare
Teacher and classroom support
She works closely with Mr. Mohamad on financial operations and continues to be a supportive presence for both staff and families. You may also see her assisting in classrooms when additional support is needed.
Yolanda Roberts
Curriculum Coordinator
Ms. Yolanda previously worked at our Manassas, VA location for nearly three years as a Lead Preschool Teacher.
Her strong background in curriculum design and early childhood education led to her promotion as Nanda’s Curriculum Coordinator, as we prepare for MSDE accreditation at both our Diamondback and Traville locations.
Ms. Roberts brings extensive knowledge in:
Curriculum planning and instructional support
Classroom routines and organization
Child behavior guidance and developmentally appropriate practices
Teacher and classroom support
You will frequently see her visiting classrooms and working closely with teachers to support lesson implementation, classroom structure, and academic quality.
She also provides administrative support to ensure consistency across programs and alignment with state standards.
We are excited to have her in this important role and are confident that her leadership will enhance the learning experience for both staff and children.
Renata Shami
Center Director
Ms. Renata oversees our staff and daily operations across all three Rockville locations. She is your main point of contact for matters related to:
Day-to-day center operations
Incident reports
Enrollment and transitions
Classroom assignments and routines
General information about your child’s day, classroom, routines, and teachers
Teacher and classroom support
Daily compliance with MSDE licensing operational standards
Questions regarding allergies, medication administration, and more

Fernanda Uchoa
Center Supervisor – Nanda Traville (MD)
Ms. Fernanda supports the day-to-day operations of our Traville location, with a focus on Infant and Toddler classrooms. She plays an active role in ensuring smooth transitions and consistent routines for both children and staff.
She can assist with:
Child-related paperwork and documentation
Classroom transitions
Incident reports
Questions or concerns regarding your child’s experience
General information about your child’s day, classroom, routines, and teachers
Teacher and classroom support
She also works closely with the administrative team to oversee staffing, classroom coverage, and overall center organization.
